The Library was able, through funding support from the Korea Foundation, to provide access for most of 2009 to the e-Korean Studies database. 

 

2. Catalogue AccesS

The Library has by and large completed the cataloguing of its Xu Dishan (許地山) Collection.  The Xu Dishan Collection is part of the ANU Library’s Rare Book Collection, and consists of selected rare items from the personal library Xu Dishan (1893-1941), a Professor of Chinese at the University of Hong Kong, which was purchased by the ANU Library in 1950.   There are 420 titles in 1150 volumes in rare Xu Dishan Collection.

Catalogue records were added for 1100 APABI e-books.  Although the Library has been successful in loading vendor-supplied catalogue records for APABI e-books, the same is not true for 7,000 e-books purchased from Superstar a few years ago.  Access to Superstar e-books is only available via their website.

In 2009 the Library was able to employ casual staff to catalogue a backlog of Korean-language books and journals.  So far, we have added catalogue records for some 620 volumes of Korean language material.
